Hi Everyone,
I captured this Sandhill Crane while he was searching for some breakfast in the long grass of a swampy area at the entrance to Waterton Lakes National Park in southwestern Alberta. I actually heard the Sandhill Cranes before I saw them, they were being quite vocal for some reason. Hope you are having a great weekend.

Hi Rick,
Very good capture of this beautiful Crane. Sharp details and natural colours and the background is nicely blurred.
Thanks for sharing

Lovely capture, Rick.
The Sandhill Crane is an elegant creature and it looks fabulous here foraging around in the tall green grasses.
Thanks and regards.

Hello Rick,
An excellent capture of a sandhill Crane from the summer, The POV is ideal and shows it with fine sharpness and colours against the contrasting OOf natural BG.
Interesting to see the rusty tone that the plumage acquires after it has been rubbed in the peaty ground. The same thing happens to our cranes in the breeding season.
Thanks and have a good Sunday,

Hi Rick.
Beautiful photo with good composition impressive colours and very good sharpness.
Regards, Christodoulos.

I can see the intensity in its eyes..reminds me of a drive two years ago when the grounds around the farms were still in water and the herons where food searching. The look on the face is very much the same....Fine lesson Rick!

Hello Rick,
I have heard about these birds, but have never seen one in the wild. They really are quite attractive with their rusty colored body feathers contrasting the grey, white and red coloring in the head and neck area.
I like the way you captured this particular one out in the open grasses, and in a pose that allows us to view it's entire body features. Excellent detail and beautiful natural colors. Well done!!
