Another portrait of a "Whiskey Jack" or gray jay. This time I lured him to perch on the top of my cross-country skis with little bits of bread held in may hand. He would come and get the bread and wait on the ski for more. I was feeding with one hand and shooting with the other - tricky.

Hi John,
What a funny and original capture! Those birds are the most sociable ones that I know... This is a very sharp capture with excellent composition and exposure. You also caught a beautiful light in its eye. Well done!

Hello John,
Special original photo of this Jay. I think I don't can manage that with one hand. The sharpness and details are very good. Good composition and beautiful colours.

Wonderful shot. Really feels like it was taken in the northwest. Gary
