[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This lil creature* stopped to seize me up,
while I was drinking in the majestic beauty of
the Rockies in the Kootenay National Park...

That was last Spring, I believe in the month of May.

* Spermophilus columbianus (Columbian ground squirrel)

PS After feedback, I have adjusted the original by a further crop. [ I had transferred this shot from TE ]


PSS Prairie dogs [Cynomys sp.] and ground squirrels [Spermophilus sp.] are of the same family, along with tree squirrels and chipmunks. Often, ground squirrels are mistakenly called gophers. Gophers, which are also a common rodent of the Prairie region, belong to a different family, Geomyidae.

I really like the composition. Nice details and sharpness. Excellent DOF. Outstanding presentation for TN. (Looks a lot like the prairie dogs I saw today.

Hello Jay , A Very good shot from the squirrel ,nice pose colours sharpnes bg , good job , I look with us up the web but I find not the name of the plant , the flower is a beauty ,have a fine weekend .
