nice shot of the American Coot from your archives. This is sharp with a nice composition among the waterweeds and with excellent lighting.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Very good image again...
Difficult fellow to photograph; you manage to get a lot of detail in the black area.

very nice picture .Very sharp with nice colors and DOf.Also very nice job on the details of the black of the head.
nice shot of the "mud hen".These birds sure are shy when compared to ducks and to date ,I have not got a really good photo of one.Your photo has the same sort of overexposed bill as all my coot photos, this is something I'm not sure how to compensate for but in the end it is just to minor a point. The thing that I like about so many of our water foul friends are the red coloured eyes that so many of them seem to have.Jim Davis's note is good and useful.I have decided to return to uploading photos to TN but only one or two times a week as I have spent far too much time on the net.Besides Jay (Shoot Score)got me thinking and he is right so now I'm back to stay.
Happy first day of spring 2007 to ya. Bob
Rick it's not often I hoot for a coot < the old familiarity I suppose > but I like this shot. Catching the coot in its habitat grazing is somewhat uncommon to duck-hounds. ;) So much better than some floaters!
OK with this photo you have also passed an amazing milestone.
Allow me to congratulate you on 3000 points! With some 115plus photos posted that is quite a nice accomplishment! Again congrats! Thanx for sharing almost daily! I know how much time this eats up! So long, Jay

I like the light on the bird and on the scene, and the way it is swimming among the water plants in its natural habitat.

The colours here are pure drama, despite the peaceful quality of the scene. Grand capture, superb composition

I'm still tying to get a decent shot of this bird they not very photogenic. You did excellent , having the leaves surounding the bird does set a wonderful scene. Very nice sharpness and the colors are great. Very well done on the composition ... and the red eye works here very well ;-).

great capture of this coot, I always find the eyes hard to capture properly but you did a good job.
