... aka Ĉolian Imprint and Ode to Earth Day ...

Click on the photo to display the panorama version

After recent storms we have experienced relative calm along the seashore. Calm waters show the slightest breeze...

Note: There are but TWO birds in this shot:
ONE gull < waterbird? > swimming;
it's a great black backed gull Larus marinus...
ONE gull < rockbird? > resting on the rocks;
it's a herring gull Larus argentatus... ...

The rest of the dots are lobstertrap floats.

PS: Ĉolian means related to Aeolus, the Greek God of wind,

RP Note: I had planned to post a panorama; but I messed up on the pixel count < due to caption > maybe today... it's ready, and I have re-posted.

PS For those who like blues, here is another shot from another day/a>...

Hello Jay

An amazing vista.I think the gulls give a great sense of perspective.Well focused with sharp detail, and lovely palette of blues.A million dollar view.TFS

Rob

Hi Jay,
I like your posting of the Provincial Park,Writing-on-Sea is a place I have never before heard of, that is until now.I understand from your note that this area must be fairly windy.I know that Pincher Creek Alberta is a windy place however I know it is not as windy as many places on the east coast, esp. the bay of Fundy. An interesting vista with good colour and subtle details make this a keeper, thanks for putting up this one. Hi Jay,
I like very much your panorama, it's incredible the curly lines in the sea. I like that you'd posted that rock on the left. I love the blues...

Aida

Hi Jay. A beautiful setting well captured and presented for all to enjoy. I like the blue and the elongated calm look of this composition. Would be suitable for a mural on the wall. TFS. Murray.
PS I like your philisophical slant on this and many other occasions.

Very well done Jay - I will keep you in mind when I do decide to do a panorama - thank you.
I like seeing the wind moving gently on the waters here - it doesn't look like it is a good day for yachting!
Cheers
Janice

Jay

Sometimes I have to wait until I get hoem to be able to critique shots becuase the screen at work is not very flattering... and this shot has so much more to see in it on my home screen. The pattern of blues in the sea is wonderful and adds so much to the shot.

TFS

Hi Jay and really sorry for the delay.
I've been mostly out in the fild these past couple of days searching for some new animals :)

I think an LP was the way to go here!
This is a very delicate composition but it also shows exactly the "mood" there.
The small ripples on the water are great and give a little contrast here and there, but the positioning of that rock there on the left is just excellent.
Also the perspective is exceptional and that coest there makes a terrific BG.
Good exposure and very nice POV, too.

Bravo and TFS

Hello Jay,
Nice pano with generous cropping. Composition is excellent as others have remarked, and the patterns on the water make the photo work. Good job. Cheers!

Hi Jay!
I really like this, it looks very similar to some of the views I see while traveling with my husband. I love how the breeze has made such great textures in the water. TFS
