Hi All, Well I just finished unloading the trailer and couldn't wait to get back into the swing of TrekNature, I hope your all well and I will be playing catch up as I'm way behind and don't want to miss anything you guys have been upto. For todays posting I have what was just the sweetest moment I have experienced in a long time, we were blessed to find this Mule Deer doe who had just given birth to her fawn in Waterton Lakes National Park. She was just finishing cleaning the newborn and the afterbirth up and this capture is of the fawn taking some of its' first wobbly steps. This old guy just about cried to see such a beautiful scene, we couldn't have missed the birth by more than a few minutes. Hope you enjoy, I should be around for a while now as my next vacation days are in September.

great pose and expression good focus but way to dark in my opinion.

So Innocent Rick.
You've captured a beautiful and innocent moment from nature. I think I would have cried too. This is very special.

I really like this perspective of the newborn fawn taking refuge under it's mother. Welcome back to TN Rick!

Hi Rick, :)

So glad to have you back! This is indeed a sweet moment, I absolutely love the POV you were able to get of this baby doe. The blades of grass framing her eye are perfect. Fantastic photo, I love it!

Hi Rick,

What a wonderful post for your return! I know I would have cried too. The baby with the big eyes is beautiful and to capture it under the shelter of the mother is really special. Beautiful colors and details and a wonderful souvenier of your trip.

Hi Rick,
good to see you are back safe and sound from your vacation. This shot is is a rarity to be sure and the fact you have got a capture like this is remarkable. How many people have even ever seen a new born deer let alone photoed one,I would be over joyed to see this as well as you most certainly were to see this scene. This is a very fine capture with everything that you could want in it just right. Thanks for putting up this new born deer and hopefully you will meet up with it again. Hi Rick

Lovely POV - would say a very luck shot, but you seem adept at getting wonderful shots like this :) The eye contact is great, making this a very special shot.

Good to see you back. I am off to Poland for the w/e then back for a few days then off to NW Scotland for a long w/e.

Hi Rick,

great to see you back, i'm looking forward to seeing what you've managed to capture on your travels.
This is lovely, what a tender moment you've caught here. The sense of protectiveness and fragilty is very strong. You big softie ;o)

Hi Rick
great moment and great capture of the babies face. A bit dark, I tried to improve just a bit not to spoil the atmosphere

I always look forward to your wonderful shots from your trip. This one is really special, not often we get to see newborn animal babies in the wild. Must have been quite something witnessing this event.
