[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This wonderful little fellow came very close to shore to see me . He was so close that I had to back up to get a good pic . Those red eyes are stunning . These are surprisingly small birds , but they have an amazing personality . It took me months of visiting our ponds to get them to come this close , but now they greet me every time I stop in . I didn't get this one to pose for me , though , a coot was being silly , and this guy gave it a glare .

Lovely shot ... it's a grebe of some sort, isn't it? Colors are great, picture is well composed and I like the reflection captured and that red, red eye. However it isn't quite in focus which is a shame; perhaps because, as you say he was too close and you were having to move. On the whole, it is a nice photo, though. I can't get close enough to the grebes here to get a decent shot, they are very shy around people.
