I like this mushroom for its resemblance to a thick-crusted pizza covered with bits of feta cheese. (OK, maybe I took this photo when I was hungry)
This particular mushroom belongs to the division Basidiomycota (Latin: "little pedestal fungus") and is the transient fruiting body of septate fungi an underground fungus that devours rotting vegetation.

interesting shot good focus bacground is a little noisey. i think color woudl have been better for this though.

After reading your notes and looking at your photo again, I know feel hungry too, hehe. I like the B&W composition it really shows off your pizza toppings well. Nice fine details and good DOF.
