Hi Donna. sometimes we have to do this sort of thing to get the pictures we want. and you have a great one here. the warm glows given of by the morning sunrise is just beautiful. you are so lucky to live in a wonderful place. you have a nice compostion with good notes to read. TFS.

I wouldn't worry...they are Canadian and they know you are an American right? We Americans are all nuts to begin with:-) But truth...I feel that way too sometimes when taking a pic at a funny time or in an unusual place.

Thanks for posting picture of my childhood home...I spent 3-4 hours a day on the Lake...5 miles out in a 16 foot Lyman with a 5HP motor and my dad. There are not enough good pics like yours around. Folks get the notion that Lake Erie is a polluted mess and then they forget all about the natural beauty of it which you have shown here...Fine show...

Thanks for the nice peaceful image and amusing story. I love the colors too and understand completely. I like the simplicity of the palette and the nice silhouetted shapes. Perhaps a narrower aperture would have give you a bit more sharpness in the foremost leaves. Maybe it is just me, or my eyes. I generally like silhouettes to be crisp.

Still catching up on what I have missed and I am so glad that you got this one despite how you were dressed. I too frequently get similar looks... I have been known to be 1/2 mile from home is bare feet with a china mug in my hand and a camera in the other...

Great picture and really like the dark silhouttes.
