I spent about an hour with this Coyote just inside the south gates of Jasper National Park. He was hunting mice or voles and I acutally got a shot of him with a vole hanging out of his mouth. This is the better shot though - pouncing.

Hello John,
Great capture, I have wanted to get a shot like this for a long time, this summer at Waterton I waited for 10 min while a coyote was waiting to pounce on a ground squirrel, but believe it or not the second I lifted my head from the viewfinder he pounced, lol. You caught him extended out perfectly and the concentration on his face is superb, thanks John.

That is quite a stretch on him and quick action on your part. What was your shutter speed? This coyote has the same coloring as many near here have. I've seen almost white coyotes in Yellowstone, gray ones in Yosemite, and sandy colored ones in the desert. Nice work

Hi John

Great action shot - you are obviously a lot more patient than me! Good framing too.

Hello John,

Beautiful capture of this coyote. Very good timing. Good composition and nice natural colours.

The only time I ever get to see a coyote is when they dart across the road, and then they are gone. Great catching this hunt. Great action shot!

Your right Mr Warden. It is way good you caught it like this..fine moment capture..

Another great "natural" animal action shot...it displays the beautiful shape of this much maligned animal,,,TFS
