[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the past I have posted a few photos of Burrowing Owls, but I noticed it has just been the young. Well todays' posting is the father of that group. He would always fly to a fence post and click his beak, this would send the young ones down into the burrow. Then he would give me that stern looking owl stare, as if to say back off. Well over time this family came to accept me not as a threat but just as a curious on looker, the beak clicking stopped and the young ones stayed up to watch me as I watched them. Even Mom and Dad went about their normal business and no longer came to the fence to intercept me.
I must apologize I have been working very long hours with this extremely cold weather, so I have just been marking your great postings and awarding points so I don't lose them, I have days off coming so I will get back to critiquing them, so thanks for being patient with me.

great work!

Hallo Rick
Even looking at the thumbnail only this owl eyes burnt at me. They are enormous in size and the colour is just breathtaking. I think when one looks long enough you will easily be hypnotised. This is a brilliant shot of this very fabulous looking Burrowing Owl. Stunning detail all over. Lovely pose and focus is spot-on. I just like the colour of the plumage. It looks like somebody has taken a paintbrush and dipped in white paint and just made some blotches on the feathers. Good presentation from the lens of an excellent photographer. Thanks for sharing. It was most enjoyable to look at. Have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards
Anna

Hi Rick,
IL est vraiment impressoinnant et d'une grande netteté avec des couleurs très natrelles.

Well, I don't know if he stayed long like this but he definitely seems to want you to take his picture. The eye contact is unbelivable, a fantastic shot with perfect sharpness, nicely framed with an excellent blurry background. Congratulations!

Hello Rick,

No time, just marking today.
Mariki

Hi Rick,
What a stunning photo. The eyes are just hypnotic. How in the .... did you get him to face you while you took the photo. Did you make the sound of a little mice? The perfect soft green BG enhances the silhoutte of the owl and matches the eyes perfectly.
TFS,
Niek
