Now I see what you mean when you say you weer in a 'reflective' mood while on this run James....A double meaning for sure..and perhaps the image was a projection of the patterns of thoughts going through you at the time which is why it is so dang genuine and clear...this one stands on top for sure. Jung believed that "going through" was the import and the teacher in life...so that, as with me, some become what I call "wounded healers"...It is quite deep..perhaps not as deep as this image however.

hello James,
What a sigh!. Marvellous landscape-picture. This lake seems as flat as a mirror in the morning calmness and light. The water seems to be very transparent, I imagine it must be a paradise for trouts. Really well done

Hi James,
It does look more like a mirror image than a reflection! The layer of ice, the snow on the mountains, the little white cloud (which is also reflected in the water) makes this a beautiful study in blue and white. Wonderful colors, wonderful composition and a delight to see for someone living in a climate where at 9am it is already in the 90's climbing up to at least 105F.

Hi James,
Outstanding shot and you have portrayed this majestic setting so beautifully. The reflection of the distant snow-capped mountains on the calm water looks fantastic and I like your low POV to bring this place alive. So serene and so lovely. Excellent DOF ahnd very nice composition. Kudos.

Hello James,
What a wonderful and 'cool' composition!! Excellent use of the stone-covered bottom to create depth in this wonderful landscape. I love the smooth surface of the water and the beautiful reflections of those massive mountains. Fantastic!

Hi James,
What a beautiful photo of this untouched piece of nature. The fact that you were there this early in the season gave you a lot of extra benefits. Not so crowded, clean air and softer light. The latter two gave you the opprtunity to create this beauty. The one little cloud does add a lot to this photo.
TFS,
Niek

Hi James,
I have too many to catch up in here..the layering is incredibly beautiful and well captured. The reflections so clearwith no just a single ripple or movement in the cold lake.Excellent poV and DoF.It is interesting to look beneath the water of the lake.Good notes accompanying the shot.Very well done.
TFS & Cheers

Hi James
A splendid landscape shot from you, my friend and another geography lesson for all of us! Thank you for sharing...really!
This is more of an unconventional composition you chose here...and i like it! Instead of showing a clear blue sky, you opted for the nice rocks under the water in the FG: great idea!
The reflection is absolutely fantastic and the composition is creates is superb!
I also love the natural border and leading lines of the side-forests...i think they really add to the scene a lot.
Overall: this is definitely a place worth seeing in real life, but if you can't go there, watch this shot :)
Bravo and TFS

Hallo James
Very nice view and exact title. I don't know which image I like the most, the original or reflected. Amazing composition and beautiful colours. Perfect point of view and great depth of field. One can easily get lost in yourself looking at a landscape like this. So peaceful and serene. Nature at its best, no sounds of the daily rat race interfering with the silence. The mood and atmosphere captured here is just terrific. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards.

Hello James,
It looks as if you are on hiatus tooooo. Just when I finally get back on TN everyone flees... hmmm. : )
By the time you guys get back, (I'm assuming you will be back???) then I'll be gone on our fall excursion.
It is nice to see Lake Maligne. I've been to Jasper a few times but could never convince the driver **smile** to go there. If a place is popular with tourists, or might be... it's like pulling hen's teeth to get him to go there. So I get to see the lake through your eye/lens. It is a nice shot with nice depth of focus from near to far. I suppose the lake looks better in May with ice than full of red canoes etc.
TFS
Evelynn : )
