hello, here it is another view of the Black Tern,
the photo being shot by a camera with only 3X zoom
it is the reason i am taking the option to show
the bird in his environnement in his natural habitat

from the Royal Ontario Museum website
here is some notes on the Blak Tern :

« Features: The Black Tern (Chlidonias niger) is a small,
boldly marked tern with black head and underparts during
the breeding season. They are mainly insect predators,
hovering just above the water as they pick their prey
off the surface. They build floating nests in loose colonies
in shallow marshes, especially in cattails. In winter they
migrate to the coast of northern South America.

Range: The Black Tern breeds in the temperate regions
of Europe, and in North America where it ranges from
northern British Columbia and Alberta south to Arizona
and Kansas and east to New Brunswick. In Ontario Black Terns
are found scattered throughout the province, but breed mainly
in the marshes along the edges of the Great Lakes.

Threats: Historical records show Black Terns were once
common in Ontario, and that recent declines have been
occurring since the 1980s. Threats include wetland drainage
and alteration, water pollution and human disturbance
at nesting colonies (particularly boat traffic which
can swamp the floating nests).

Protection: The Black Tern and its nest is protected
under the Migratory Birds Convention Act.

How keen. You must be bending over to take this image, unless the grass is high? Very neat way to do it and not often done. Very fine description of the bird Asbed...and matching picture is a good lesson plan!

Bonjour Asbed,
Well captured on the Black Tern on a low inflight over the grass!
the bright sunlight is good to have good clarity, natural colour and details over the image
well done

Altra bella cattura in volo, molto bella la composizione con l'ambiente tipico delle zone paludose con le piante di Ifa, buona nitidezza, belli e naturali i colori. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Dear Asbed,
Grand aerial capture of the black tern reflects your tremendous effort & interest in wildlife photography. No wonder why you are able to find out all those which we hardly come to see otherwise. TFS.

Hi Asbed,

The Tern looks so small flying right over that tall grass. Wonderful perspective. The bird is nice and sharp and captured in a beautiful position.

Hello Asbed

Another lovely capture of a Black Tern.
The colours show well.
Very well placed in a natural marshy habitat.
Good pov and dof.

Bonjour Asbed

Félicitations pour cette belle capture et félicitations pour les détails du plumage et le regard perçant de l'oiseau.

Merci et au revoir...JP.

Hello Asbed. Nice shot displaying the perspective of the flight of this black tern. Good clarity with contrasting green and the space is sufficient for the flight path. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni
