hello dear friends, the first time that i saw this
mallard duckling alone with his/her Mommy
it was on first of july, i did a photo of them but
all blurred (maybe the excitement of me) the next day
on july 2, i went to the pond and i did a better photo

here is that photo :
http://www.treknature.com/gallery/photo171662.htm

then another photo the 6 july :
http://www.treknature.com/gallery/photo173214.htm

then i did several photos of them, but not beautiful
to be published, they will stay in my archives my memories

the last time i saw them together to the pond
it was the 23 august, then i did'nt saw them
but myself too, i went 2 or 3 times to the pond

this photo is taken the 15 july

now you see that i gived as title

« They are no more together »

because the first time i saw them it was 1st of July
today where are 18 september, 10 weeks have passed
and if we go and read on Hinterland Who's Who
website on the Mallard Duck, we can read :

http://www.hww.ca/hww2.asp?id=54

« The young gradually lose their down and
grow their feathers. In about 10 weeks they have assumed
a plumage that is much like that of the female. By that time,
the female has abandoned them. »

so this unique duckling is no more with her Mommy
he is fliying alone from his/her wings,

this Mommy and the Ducling they where
my favorite ducks of the pond, their souvenir
will stay on my heart forever

my next posting will be my 250th
and it will be this duckling's image

Merci

Asbed

Wowww... What a lovely composition of these cute family members! The surrounding also great! Reflections on the watewr surfaca and tree trunks make this shot stunning. Many thanks for sharing this beautiful image my friend!
Have a nice day!
Cheers,

Bayram

Hi Asbed,

It makes me sad to think the mother has left this cute little one. I know, it's nature but it still makes me sad. There were so many baby birds and bunnies here this year and I always had the same feeling and had to get used to seeing them fend for themselves. A very sweet shot of mother and child - I love the way they are sitting facing opposite directions. Nice colors and a beautiful setting. By the way, how is your mother doing?

Jane

Your composition is fascinating....The vertical lines drawn by the fallen tree and then reflections with the ducks almost opposite is super attractive. And you stay within your range of well chosen colours...I am not sure if you do this PP, but either way it works from your eye to mine!

Ciao Asbad, wonderful composition with fantastic reflections, very well done, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

Hi Asbed,

The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The light bis enhancing the colors which are well saturated. The details and colors of the ducks are clear and sharp. Have a nice day.
