Hi Doreen,

A very interesting image, nice shot. I think your specimen is a species of Inonotus, they often get those drops of liquid on them like that when young.


Hi Doreen,

Your photo shows Fomitopsis pinicola (Swarz 1810 : Fries 1821) Karsten 1881. The drops of liquid are typical of this specie, on the surface where the specimen is growing.
