Chickadee Vs. The Paparazzi
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|My friend the cardinal was hanging out in the bushes today... and I decided to try to apply a little bit of the knowledge I've obtained from some of the nature photography books I've been leafing through while home sick from work in hopes of being able to get REALLY close to him.|
I was actually able to slowly work my way within about 15 feet of the cardinal, who remained well protected by lots of dense brush. I guess I finally got too close, as he took off.
But it left me in pretty good position to fill the frame of my camera with this little chickadee who I think was just wishing I'd stop playing paparazzi so that he and his buddies could get to my feeders and load up before the snow hits later today, and the temperature drops to almost -30C.
** NOTE: Lens also had 1.4x Sigma Teleconverter attached.

Hello John !
I wish you a very warm welcome to TN !
You start with a lovely picture ! It is a bit soft, and lacking some details on the plumage, but I kind of like it - it gives the picture a soft and tender mood, a feeling that is reinforced but the lovely colors. Very nicely composed, too. Well done !
Lovely close up of this black capped chickadee, good sharpness, beautiful colors, nice catchlight and good details in the plumage,
Thanks for sharing
