[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Ever since I've taken up photography I've been trying to get clean shots of the cardinals that frequent my backyard.

Happy to say that this year I've learned enough about them that I can now get within feet of them and take their picture without spooking them.

I just love their colour, and I've enjoyed the challenge they've given me. You really do have to earn an opportunity like this!

I love the composition and cropping of this photo. There's a bit of humor too, with the snowy beak (sort of like a child with a sugary face after eating a donut, perhaps?). The colors are really nice as well. The subject focus seems just a little bit soft. But that is the only thought I would offer for improvement.

Well seen and captured! And welcome to TrekNature!

Hi John! How's it going?

That's a mighty fine camera you've got there.
I think it's already paying off. Very nice winter portrait: because of it's red color, the background looks de-satured, which makes it stand out. You just earned two points!

Well done!

Best regards,
