hello friends here is another photo of the
Hairy Woodpecker in-flight, i think NASA's
engineers to design space shuttle took their
example from the flights of the Hairy Woodpecker (LOL)

photo shot with my Fujifilm bridge camera
in RAW, ISO200, Flash, Flash correction + o.7

from Birds of Nova Scotia website :

http://museum.gov.ns.ca/mnh/nature/nsbirds/bns0232.htm

It is very similar in appearance to the Downy Woodpecker,
from which it can be distinguished by its larger size and
by its white tail feathers, which lack the small transverse
black bars that mark those of the smaller bird. Another good
field mark at close range is length of the bills, that of the
Hairy being noticeably longer than that of the Downy.

Merci

Asbed

Hi Asbed,
I some time think how fast you are to capture these small birds lighting speed movements. Just excellent. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Ciao Asbed, great capture of beautiful bird in aereodinamic pose, like a missil, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Asbed,
Nice photo of this woodpecker in flight. The bird is a bit noisy, but it's incredible clever to make such a photo in this composition. Great pose.
Regards,
Peter

HI Asbed,
your shots are always very amazing, flying birds are so difficult to catch - you are a real master in shots like that, thanks

Hi Asbed, a fine capture from belly side of this Hairy Woodpecker in-flight MF! It resembles a arrow:).
TFS this fine image and cheers,
Bayram

An interesting shot Asbed. It looks like a fighter jet. Nice to see original shots on Treknature. TFS Trevor

Bonjour Asbed,
Belle capture de ce pic qui semble fendre l'air comme une navette spatiale comme tu le dis si bien!
Bravo
Albert

Hello Asbed,
I tried all stunts to take a shot like you, but failed every where ;)
Superb inflight display of this beautiful bird. TFS
Regards-Subhash

I did a version of the space shuttle for YouTube..however I think YT may slowly degrade while this image gives the proper projectile for a missile shot..better to dedicate this to the shuttle rather than N Korea eh?
