hello friends, the House Finch male,
photo shot with my Fujifilm bridge
camera in RAW, ISO400, and what i see
in my exifs that day i did not use the Flash

and if you see the shutter speed that day
i was at 1/4000s, so i was in manual mode
and not in shutter speed mode, because in
shutter speed mode the fastest i shoot at 1/2000s,
but i realized (after that day what i see in the exifs)
that in manual mode i have a shutter lag delay
that i don't have in shutter speed mode, it is the
reason why i only shoot in shutter speed mode

« House finches are sparrow-sized birds. Males are
reddish with heavy, brown streaks. Females are brown
birds with heavy brown streaks on white underparts.
House finches differ from purple finches by the male
purple finch's purple side streaks (unlike the brown
streaks in a house finch) and by the female's
conspicuous eye stripe (female house finches
lack this feature.) In the Black Hills, house finches
could be confused with Cassin's finches, but the
house finch has much heavier ventral streaking
and lacks the Cassin's finch's back streaking.
Female house finches are harder to distinguish,
but are generally less boldly patterned. »

Merci

Asbed

Hi Asbed,

This finch is looking right at you and seems to be flying towards you as well. Your shots don't usually show the birds with their wings spread wide like this one. The face is nice and sharp and the catchlight is lovely.

Jane

Bravo

In flight shots bring out qualities in colours that are not always seen when it is perched. Essentially you could go on for weeks with this type of shot and one would not always look like the other..just the opposite!

Hi Asbed.

Nice shot again with the bird flying and looking at your lens :-). I like the eye and the framing in natural habitat.

Jusni

Hello Asbed,
Great in-flight shot of a male House Finch takrn from a fine POV and excellent lighting to freeze the wings in a fine position and achieve nice catchligt in the eye.
TFS,
Ivan

Bonjour Asbed,

La prise de vue a bien saisi le roselin familier en vol qui semble se diriger vers le photographe. Le flou de l'arrière-plan met en évidence l'oiseau. La lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.
