hello friends, today i am happy to present you
the Great Blue Heron in-flight over the river
Rivière des Prairies, i was at Montréal's side

« The largest and most widespread heron
in North America, the Great Blue Heron can
be found along the ocean shore or the edge
of a small inland pond. An all white form is
found from southern Florida into the Caribbean,
and used to be considered a separate species,
the "Great White Heron."

Found along calm freshwater and seacoasts.
Usually nests in trees near water, but colonies
can be found away from water. Great White Heron
found almost exclusively in shallow marine habitats. »

Hi Asbed,

I knew right away that this was a new shot! You could not have been far from the heron to get such a good close-up. I love the position of the head, wings and legs. Nice colors and details and the water looks so inviting.

Hello Asbed,
This is well captured!
The frontal POV has allowed you to time this shot so that the wings are down in a wonderful position, yet the slight side angle allows us to see the head and eye with excellent sharpness and detail as theis Great Blue Heron flies over the river.

What a GREAT HUGE wingspan; and, you got it all in one single frame.
