hello friends, the woodcock on this photo
it is the same bird as my previous posting

the photo was shot in burst mode, even if
this photo's quality it is not superb i decide
to post it and to do it my photo #700 on TN

take in consideration that this photo it is
shot with a very small point & shoot camera,
so i can not obtain better image quality than this
also if ones of you don't know the woodcock as a bird
i just want to say that it is a very very fast take-off
flying bird, the woodcock being a game bird
you need a pointing dog to locate and point it

in the previous photo's workshop
i am posting the photo of Ranger my
pointing dog on point over this Woodcock

from Birds of Nova Scotia website

« The general behaviour of this bird is as erratic
as its take-off when flushed, a fact to which every
experienced woodcock hunter will attest.
When approached, it will sometimes jump at 5-10 m
distance or sometimes be nearly underfoot before
taking flight. A hunting dog will usually catch the bird's
scent at long range and make its characteristic "point,"
but sometimes the bird flushes virtually under the
dog's nose, startling the dog and baffling the hunter. »

Merci

Asbed

Congratulations on your 700th post, Asbed. This is an amazing upload with beautiful motion blur. Very artistic and nicely captured bird in flight. Well done and have a great Sunday. Regards - Jusni.

Almost perfect timing in my opinion friend Asbed. Obviously a better capture than the previous submission. Good day! The shutter speed is rightly chosen and I like the fact that you following the bird with your camera. This create a real sense of movement. What will have even a greater impact is to try and capture the bird in more parallel position to your camera. I know it is a very difficult task but I think will be nice to see a bit more of the bird face, eye, beak etc.etc. Non the less good shot with lots of motion and dynamism. Congratulation for your 700 post Asbed!!!

George Veltchev

Hello Asbrd,

We have talked about panning.

Good shutter timing my friend, alone now from behind.
I know it are difficult and specially with point and shoot.
George have been writing it good.
Congratulations with your 700th post my friend.

Congratulations Asbed!
Both on your 700th post and this fine capture to celebrate it! The panning was perfect to see the lateral hind aspect of the American Woodcock with its characteristic shape and colours.
This was taken with your old camera: I look forward to many more shots that include those with your new one when you get it. You are an in-flight specialist and inject life and movement into this site.
Thanks and kind regards,
Ivan

Hello Asbed,
Congratulations on your 700th posting. A milestone. Really a dynamic photo.
I hope to see a lot more.

Peter

Hi Asbed,
I really hate to be the odd-man out..
But a panning shot should show the blurred BG, with the subject in relative focus. It's absent here. I suggest you work within your cameras limits, until you move beyond a small point & shoot.
Keep at it, hope I haven't offended. Just my HONEST opinion.
Have a good Sunday & congrats on 700 posts.

Hi Asbed,

Enhorabuena por tu fotografía nº 700.
Un abrazo.

Great technique which many have an impossible time doing or justifying. But you are the ground-breaker and you show us all well.
Bob

Congratulations on #700 Asbed!!
Anyone who has ever tried to capture a moving bird with a camera will certainly appreciate this presentation. Even though you accept the fact that the quality isn't what you wished it would be, you are still trying something different then most people. This I commend you for, and know you will in time perfect your unique method of photo shooting. TFS

Hello Asbed,
the motion blur is the strength this capture. Capturing a flying bird is not easy and I have tried many times and it is so difficult.
Looking forward for more of these fast moving shot.

Hi, dear Asbed.
My heartfelt congratulations on 700th post. Considering the camera shot is very well. Even using expensive DSLR it is not possible to catch a flying subject by viewfinder often. You have reflected moving of the bird and camera very well. I wish you to get new camera, o take many-many various pictures and amazing posts.
Alexei.

Bonjour Asbed,

Les arbres cadrent bien l'oiseau. La prise de vue en mouvement permet de voir le déplacement de la bécasse d'Amérique. La lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bon weekend.

Pierre
