[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Striped Hairstreak is a widespread but generally uncommon to rare small North American butterfly. It is most often encountered in forest openings, thickets, suburban trails and gardens.Its flight season in New Brunswick, Canada runs from early July to late August but may begin as early as May further south. It utilizes a variety of host plants in the family Rosaceae, such as Hawthorn (Crataegus spp.), Cherries (Prunus spp.) and several other deciduous woody plants such as in the heath family (Ericaceae). Its life cycle includes a single brood per year, with the eggs overwintering.

Excellent presentation of this rare butterfly. The light is really magical & the bokeh really enhances this hairstreak's hues & finer features. Impressive focus & a perfect low POV. Well done indeed!
