Hello friends, the Hairy Woodpecker
from the feeder to the tree.

I was in A (aperture) mode, ISO400.
fully zoomed 50mm (35mm eq:75mm)
with 75% of cropping to have it closer.

from the All About Birds website

« Hairy Woodpeckers hitch up tree
trunks and along main branches.
They sometimes feed at the bases
of trees, along fallen logs,
and even on the ground at times.

They have the slowly undulating
flight pattern of most woodpeckers. »

This is an amazing woodpecker shot, Asbed. The in flight details of the plume is stunning and the light is fabulous. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Hello Asbed,
the woodpecker is in excellent details. The inflight shot is so well done.
I like the outstanding red patch on the head.
Well seen.

Bonjour Asbed,

Les arbres cadrent bien l'oiseau. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs du Pic chevelu. La qualité de la lumière rehausse les coiuleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hi Asbed,

What a fine capture my good friend, a 75% crop hey hmmm if you had a longer lens well then you would be in the pound seats, superb action shot with good timing, definitive sharpness and lovely lighting, excellent work here Asbed and very well done,

Nice one Asbed!
You have used your skills well with your new equipment in catching this Hairy Woodpecker in flight. The ISO 400 allowed a close crop without noise and the sharpness is excellent.
I like the lighting to give natural colours and the POV is great to show the features. Interesting that it is so well seen against the dense natural BG.
Well done and thanks,
Best regards,

Catchy picture with the food in his mouth Asbed. Great wing span photography. I love the bright whites in the bird. Your camera knows white well. The DOF is perfect for a side profile. I love the colours too. The red stands out right away. Keep them coming Asbed. TFS Trevor
