Hello friends, this photo of the Merlin with its prey
was taken this morning in front of our house but in
our immediate neighbours side. Here is from
our neighbours stairs.

I have 2 other photos in the WS.

Photo WS1 : Photo shot from our stairs.

Pjhoto WS2 : Photo shot from our neighbours stairs, in front it is our stairs.

1/125s f/5.6 ISO2000 85mm (35mm eq:127mm).

from the All About Birds website

« A small falcon of northern forests
and prairies, the Merlin is the least
well-marked of the American falcons.
It is becoming a regular breeder
in urban areas.

Breeds in open country from open
coniferous woodland to prairie,
occasionally in adjacent suburbs.
Winters in open woodland, grasslands,
open cultivated fields, marshes,
estuaries, and seacoasts. »

Merci

Asbed

Hello Asbed,
A really neat and educational shot of what happens in Nature daily, but is not often recorded by a lens. From the looks of all those plucked feathers, the Merlin must have captured this unlucky bird quite some time before you started to photographed it.
Outstanding focus allowing us to view this feeding action in excellent detail and beautiful natural colors. The Merlin is definitely a gorgeous raptor. Awesome shot!!

A great documentary value of photography, capturing the moment when this little hawk devours its prey. Cleverly, take the figure of bird of prey; upward and to the center, allowing you to show from the center to the lower right corner the way the feathers are arranged discarded. Congratulations also to the sharpness with which you portrayed the animal.

Bonjour Asbed,
