(I brought a note-book and a pencil this morning)
Today Saturday 2006-04-08
Sunny, -5C, wind 20k/h N.O.
6:45 am: arrival on the site. Lucy rested out of the den. I did not disturb her knowing that she needs rest.
7:40: Lucy leaves for hunting. The babies are never visible early in the morning, at least so far.
It is very noisy in this place in the morning: red-winged blackbirds, song sparrows, crows, blackbirds, seagulls, etc. I saw red-winged blackbirds in anger against a crow and driving it out of their territory.
While waiting for the return of Lucy I photographed song sparrows + robins + red-winged blackbirds nourishing themself on the ground.
9:18: return of Lucy.
9:57: SD memory cards (one 1gig + one 512mb) full. I remained still approximately half an hour to admire the spectacle. I do not run any more towards good photos, I let them come.

Thought of the day:

On the Path we can sometimes find reference marks left by others having already passed by there. We must leave them intact, to study them if it is needed, to create others if we have the capacity of it and if we feel the need of it, then to carry on our way.

Ah Luc, thank you for sharing this with us, it's an amazing capture. Look at the look of adoration in the little one's eyes. This is so stunning seeing them so close. Thank you, thank you...
You and your camera had a busy morning, time for you now to check out your photos and rest...
Merci my friend,
Janice

Hi Luc
To critique this photo one almost feel like invading or that one might disturb some serene moment, while you are busy pencilling your observations and your thoughts, in your newly acquired note book, and Lucy so motherly taking care of her young. The cub clearly has eyes for its mother only. Meanwhile I can almost hear those red-winged blackbirds, song sparrows, crows, blackbirds, and seagulls in the background.
Luc, you have captured a magnificent moment and managed to portray the scene and the atmosphere to us, the onlookers (outsiders) in a fascinating way.
Well done on all the technical aspects and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Luc,
this is a great picture of a very nice moment.
It's nice to read you note, you behave very good when you
take this shot, the mother has not discovery you or she has just accept you. She not disturbed and she is relaxed.
The POV and details are very good and the colours lovely.
Great work, my OF&YB.

I'm starting to see what TN is all about and very glad I signed up. What a great shot and it sounds like you put in some good work to take it. The shot is really crisp with so much detail and what a great subject. Well done Luc, you look like you've been doing this a while, hope I can take some great shots as well.

Hello Luc!
This also great capture as the others.I liked details,POV,expression on babies face, colors and composition a lot. Thanks for sharing this beauty...:-)

Bonjour Luc,

Michel

I really like the narration here. I'll start with that too. I think the toungue bit is very cute. Your foxes are so much nicer than mine.. how much do you pay them ? I first thought a picture less close up with look better, but then looking at the eyes of the baby fox, is so great.

Hi Luc,
this is another lovely shot. Excellent composition, sharpness, natural colours and POV. I like it very much. Next I will visit my foxes in the Arnsberger forrest. ;-) The two raccoons from last year are dead. (shot by hunter) :-( Have a great week my friend.

Encore une autre photo qui me donne des frissons, Luc.
The adoring eyes of the little one, the wistful look on Lucy.
It evokes such deep feelings in me as a mother who loves her children above all else, yet knows the pain of too much tenderness. For, in Kahlil Gibran's words:
"Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you, but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you."
The little one does not know, but Lucy knows...

Once again, the most intimate of moments between mother and offspring, captured in your lens and drawing us into this amazing shot...

Thank you for sharing Luc!

Excellent photo Luc,
