Snow Flakes I

For basic informations on Snow Flakes you can go there.
I found this interesting site too on The Snowflake Man.

It snowed a good part of the day today.
I wondered what I could photographed well by a similar day.
As I am in visit in my father and far from the city full with pollution which is Montreal and as I had carried with my camera my closed-up lens, I thought that I could perhaps photographed snow.
And I was surprised to be able to photograph crystals of snow.
I do not know if this kind of photographs is allowed here. I hope that yes because I have several of them to present. If I receive a word from my friend Robert asking to remove it, I will do it without bitterness. I do not know either under which category place this subject.

These crystals rest on a hedge of thuyas of 50 years old.
I still remember when child, with my father and my uncles we left with a car and a trailer and shovels.
We had gone in farmers in the countryside close to Granby to gather with their permission young cedars.
The farmers said: "take all the thuyas which you want", and that did not cost one cent… at that time...

I hope that you like this picture.

I benefit from the occasion to wish you all a very Good Year 2005 filled of discovered and major joys.

Great shot Luc good details on the flake, I think another POV would have been better to avoid the whit part on the right side.
Well done, good close-up

Wow! I'll need to go outside after the expected snow today, and look very closely for a snow crystal! Never looked so closely - shame on me! I don't think my camera would catch this macro, so thanks for sharing!

Beautiful photo. Good composition, sharpness, POV and DOF. I like this capture. Excellent shot.

Fantastic Luc. This is a wonderful capture - very sharp on the main subject I am really impressed. A Happy New Year to you too.

Wonderful shot, with amazing sharp details. Great, thanks for sharing with us!

Great shot Luc.
The snowflakes are very nice, they are not easy to catch.
They can take thousands of differents shapes.
Very good details and composition.
Great work.
Happy New Year.

Hello Luc

This is an incredible image. I would image not and easy shot, but you have captured this very well. It is a pleasure to view. Hope you have a safe New Year and 2005 brings you everything you wish for!

Fantastique. Ça frôle la photo au microscope.

Bravo!

Wow! Fantastic! I love the sharpness of the snowflake with blurred background eliminating any distractions. I would have cropped out either some of the top or the bottom, but its personal preference!

Its real !!!

Luc,
My wife said, "Ooooh wow! How'd he get that? With a magnifying glass? That's pretty Dave!"
I have to concur: Quite excellent!
Thanks,
Dave
ps I did tell her about the macro lens...

Hi Luc!
Thx for your post. As a very big fan of winter and snow I must tell you that this is a very good shot! The snowflake is my simbol... There´s and old story that said that snowflakes seems cold, strong and indifferent, but if you look closely you´ll find that is fragile and needs care and attention, because there´s no another like it.
Thanx for this gift!!!
Hope to hear news about you!

HI Luc,
I've never seen REAL crystals like this before, only in plastic Christmas ornaments. Thanks for sharing this.
