[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I nearly didn't post any of my bear pictures as they are not perfect shots, they were taken of wild bears on a long zoom, with no image stabiliser and shaking hands! I decided to post them as a montage just because the two small cubs were so charming playing in the long grass together. I saw these bears near Maligne Lake (near Jasper)

I was told a very interesting fact about bears whilst in Canada. The bears mate in may and June but the embryo does not implant until the mother goes into hibernation - and then only if the mother has enough fat to nourish her and any cubs through the winter. If the embryos are implanted the cubs are normally born in January

Females become reproductively mature around the age of three to four. Cubs remain with the mother for a year and a half or more, even though they are weaned at a six to eight months of age. Females only reproduce every second year (or more) and thus black bear populations have a slow rate of growth. Should the cubs die for some reason, the female may then reproduce after only one year.

I am glad you decided to post these shots, Karan.
I think they are fine sharpness wise, and the scenes definitely make them worth posting. Such cuties those baby bears are.
They seem so playful and curious.
I also like the way you put those pictures together to make a seamless montage.

Excelletn series of shots, I really like the way they merge into each other. You did very well to capture them, and even if you can't capture bees, you can capture bears!

I'm glad you posted these picture, as they are really beautiful. The baby bears are so cute ! I think sharpness is ok, beautiful natural colors and excellent compsotion. I love the way you put the picutres together, with no visible border. Very well done !

Wonderful collection and composition of bear and cub photos. Your note is very interesting and informative.

I know they look so cute and cuddly but one thing to remember is never come between a mother and her cubs. Bears and grizzles are ferocious when it comes to their babies. TFS Janice

I didn't realise at once it was a montage, apart that the scale of the bears behind seemed a bit strange. But good idea and good information.

Hi Karan
The thumbnail of this posting did not reveal any hints of a montage so I was rather surprised when I opened the file and found this excellent work. Looks like a real happy family at leisure. However, I do not want to mix it up with mamma bear. It is only in the fairytales where she seems to be this friendly and loving character.
The montage is great and although (as you mentioned) individually it might not be the best shots, but collectively they make for a wonderful post.

I first thought you had a kindegarten of baby bears here Karan. Then I was worrying about where the mothers all were!!

A very nice collage of the cute antics of these bears. I'd have been worried about where the mother bear was though! So cute, I would have been excited to see them also, well done.
