Hello Mike,
Indeed, it is a beauty! And you capture him well...
He gives you a good pose, and the backlight does a lot of good...
Pleasant colours and details, in this well framed image!

Very nice shot Mike,
the composition is very nice, the head is a little bit dark, thats easy to repair with a photoshop tool if you want. The composition and the point of view are good, well done.

Hi Mike,
the backlight in the photo is really beautiful and the posture of the crane is well captured. The overall photo looks a bit soft. But it actually does fit the dreamy atmosphere created by the backlight.

Hello Mike,
beautiful natural shot - very clear and colorful. Great composition and great details. Great colors. Well done and TFS!

There is nice backlighting here, Mike. They are magnificent birds. Personally I feel that even with the backlighting it is important that the eye be a little more visible. I tried it in pp and I think it helped give a little more punch to this image. I think the eyes are the most important feature to capture in most animal shots. In Japanese Sumi e animal painting they often start with the eye and build the animal around it.
