Waterton is one of the windiest places in Alberta, so to find it this calm was a special treat for me. This shot of Vimy mountain reflected in the Waterton river was taken at dawn, from a tripod. I'm not very good with landscapes but I liked how this one turned out.

Hi Rick, wonderful landscape with nice reflection, well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Rick,
Nice picture of reflection.nice symmetry. Colors are very calm to eyes. you mght try a frame for this good sho.I have posted a Workshop for this on. hope you wont mind.

A treat indeed.
Great colors and sharpness even for the reflection.
A great landscape!

The colors are perfect, the clarity, well like you said, peaceful. Ironic that a windy place should end up being one of the most peaceful.

This is a nice shot Rick. I think the posted workshop really brings out the quality in your photo. I think you did a fine job with a landscape. Looks good to me. It doesn't look like winter has fully set in there yet.

Hi Rick,

Very nice landscape! I think Mahesh's workshop makes it an excellent landscape.

Well done!

Thanks & TFS,

Dave

That truly is a wonderful scene Rick. The horizon here is a bit too centered for me. Bringing the camera down to get some of those FG rocks and stopping the aperature to say f16 or f22 would have given more depth to the overall composition.
A grad filter would have really helped here too.
I did a bit of a workshop on the photo to bring out the mountians a bit more.

Very nice landscape Rick with great colors, point of view and amazing reflection.

I like it a lot: composition, POV, DOF, focus, sharpness, color, lighting, background, framing and Mahesh Workshop.

I like it: notes.

I don't like it: nothing.

Great composition... thank you for sharing.
Greetings... Ricardo

Hi Rick,

stunning in it's simplicity, the whole scene speaks for itself. Lovely composition and beautiful clarity.

Greetings from wet and windy Britain

Paul

Rick, you have underrated your landscape shooting. This is a great shot. Anyone who has seen the early dawn in the mountains will know that you have captured the soft early light well. It does not provide ultra sharp definition at that time.

To manipulate the photo is definitely a possibility, but it will no longer convey the essence of the early dawn.

In particular the workshop by maheshpatil - as clever as it is - completely destroys the ambience that I see in your shot!
Apart from that I actually think that the rock in the FG is helpful, along with seeing into the shallow water...

Anyway, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I beheld a beauty! Well seen, well shot, well presented.

Looking forward to more landscapes!

Jay

PS I think that every so often we end up with PP results that produce a WOW shot, but destroy the actual seen scene.

Very nice landscape of mountain and reflection
in still waters of the river. All around great photo.
