Hello Mike,
I like so much the dark backgrounds...and specially when the subject is a light one, like this white swan.
Nice POV and exposure, we can observe a lot of details in the bird's feathers, and the beak also.
Good frame and composition,
Well done and thanks for share,
JM
PD: Enjoy the 70-200mm

Hi Mike
Seems to me the new toy was made to rest (sorry for the pun) in your hands.
You have done excellent work here and managed to capture the swan in all its natural beauty. The vertical composition and close crop obviously works well for this kind of elongated shot. The colours are very innate and the range of the DOF was quite sufficient to capture all the superb details on the bird. The dark BG works wonders with the white bird and you did brilliant work to bring out the black beak without it getting lost against the black BG. The exposure was spot on with amazing contrasts showing without any OE spots on the white plumage.
Very well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Mike
If it wasn't for the reflection in tis eye and the small red stripe on its beak, i would have really big problems deciding weather this was shot in color od b&w :))
This portrait is gorgeous, the pose of the swan in wonderful andthe contrast with the black BG is exceptional.
Very nicly framed and composed.
Bravo and TFS

Striking portrait Mr Fisher.
The B&W monotone works very well, broken with that bit of red along the lip edge..Excellent work.
Happy Holidays!
