[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The butterfly was in the butterfly house (mariposa) in the Xcaret eco park.
The mariposa is one of the biggest in world with over 3500 sqm and 15m high. There is plenty of tropical elements allowing 20 new species to be born every year.
Some more butterflies will be posted over the next few days.
All feedbacks are welcome :)
If anyone knows the name of this butterfly - please let me know.

Hello Sandrine,

Excellent close up of this butterfly.
Beautiful colours with good detail.

Hello Sandrine
This butterfly surely has the most spectacular colours, patterns and markings, and is indeed a beauty. Sorry I cannot help you with the ID, but I am sure one of the butterfly fundi's will be able to identify it for you at some stage. I like your image, it is just a pity that the focus on the corners of the wings is not that good. But I must congratulate you on the splendid detail captured on the body and the head part. Thanks for sharing this vividly blue-ish butterfly.
Kind regards

Hi Sandrine!
Amazing looking butterfly, fantastic colours which shows nice details. depth of field maybe isn't great but in this case it create nice 3D effect.

Hamadryas sps. ? februa.

A Cracker butterfly...mnamed after noise it makes when flying.

Hi Sandrine.

Beautiful photo, Certainly this butterfly belongs to genus Hamadryas, I don't know the specie. There are lots of species in this genus. If you love butterflies there are lots of websites very interesting. Would be helpful to know the geographic place where the photo was taken and to search the species living there.

Bela foto.
