American Oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus)

This is a picture I took last year in Puerto Peņasco, one
of my favorite places.

Oystercatchers are closely tied to coastal habitats. They nest on beaches on coastal islands and feed on marine invertebrates. The large, heavy beak is used to pry open bivalve molluscs. Oystercatchers raise a clutch of two or three eggs. In winter, they are found in flocks along the coast from central New Jersey to the Gulf of Mexico.

Hello Everton
Nice capture, yesterday I "shot" this species. Not so close like you but a nice one.
Well done.

Hi Everton,

A beautiful Oystercatcher from a trip to Mexcio. Beautiful colors and fine details of the face, eye, beak, and feathers. The eye is amazing with a 3D look. A lovely setting as he stands looking at the water. The composition is excellent.

Beautiful picture of the bird in its natural habitat, Everton.
I like the POV from which the entire bird is seen in sharp focus and displays all the natural colors on its body.
The beach and the water provide an authentic BG for the subject.
Thanks and regards.

Hello Everton
a fine shot of this oystercatcher standing on the beach
very good sharpness on the bird, great luminosity and natural colors
I like his impressive beak

Hello Everton!

I saw similar bird last year at Baltic see coast. Unfortunatelly it was at a distance about of 100 metres from me. It's too much for 420mm of my lens.

Hello Everton,
very beautiful picture of American Oystercatcher taken from a very good dorsal POV with superb sharpness, colours and lighting, i like the lovely pose of the bird on the sand against the water BG, very well composed.
Best regards
