I took this Gazelle( photo at Indianapolis Zoo here in Indianapolis,Indiana.

Correction:This animal was next to the striped Kudus all the time(i go this zoo often)and posted sign was showing only one photo and it was Kudu!I realized it different then others but I thought maybe female or younger one :)
Special thanks to Ori for letting me know this is a gazelle and Elefantino & Lycaon for telling me this is not a Kudu!
After the above warnings I checked and find out that this is a Gazelle:)


The Dama Gazelle or Addra Gazelle Gazella dama is a species of gazelle. It lives in Africa in the Sahara desert and migrates south in search of food during the dry season. After the rains return and the desert plants turn green, they move north back to the Sahara. Poaching and destruction of their habitat have greatly diminished their numbers, and they no longer live in large herds.

It is white with a tannish-brown head and neck. The Dama gazelle also has a subspecies, the Mhorr Gazelle, Gazella dama mhorr, which is extinct in the wild. Its numbers have fallen by 80% over the last decade, and the dama is now listed as Critically Endangered.

Hi Chris,
An excellent portrait shot on this Greater Kudu. Nice even shadowless light. Colors look great, and the detail is very sharp. I like the detail in the horns.

No negative comments on the technical merits of your picture but if there is one animal this is not then it's the greater kudu!! The colour of the animal, the gyration and ornamentation of the horns and even the form of the ears are totally wrong for a Tragelaphus strepsiceros.

It's not a GREATER KUDU !!
I don't know what it is but I'm sure it's not a Greater Kudu !

This is a very beautiful postrait of this lovely kudu.
The poV is excellent, the details are very nice and sharp nad the DOF is very well managed.
What happened to its horns?
