[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Looks like our bluebirds are back and ready to start building their nest. I spotted this lovely female perched on a fence post out back as the male inspected the bluebird house for their future nesting site.

The bluebirds go over the same ritual year after year. Both show up unexpectedly one spring day and the male flies to the house and peeks inside. After what seems like an eternity of (looking in and backing out, looking in and backing out) he finally goes inside.

Pretty soon he coaxes his mate to do the same and thus the nesting site is confirmed. Our bluebirds build their nest out of pine needles which they readily find nearby. I love these beautiful little birds and am always thrilled to see them return after a long winter of being away.

I would love to have had a gorgeous blue sky for a BG, but you must remember,....I live in Ohio. This time of the year whitish skies are the norm here, due to lake effect clouds from Lake Erie.

Wow, nice close up of this Eastern Bluebird! If they are anything like our Mountain Bluebird, they are very skittish. Tac sharp detail and rich colour create this wonderful image. The light coloured background works as a nice contrast to the darker plumage.
