[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I had a hard time trying to figure out what type of insect this was. I found it on some fire wood I had cut from my Ash tree and originally thought it was a type of wasp.

The abdomen didn't look right for a wasp and neither did it's antenna. Today I finally found it while trying to identify another moth for one of our members.

I had to cut down an Ash tree that my son planted when he was in grade school because it was infested with the larva of the Emerald Ash Borer. I found this moth on one of the logs and now believe it had just emerged from the tree.

I will post another image in a WS.

Hola Ron...hermosa foto de este exótico insecto, me gusta el entorno, composición, luz y el fondo...saludos.

Hello Ron,
Excellent image of a very strange moth. Incredible shape and colors. Very good focus and details as usual.
Marius.

Hi Ron,
wonderful and perfect shot of this terrific insect. Yes from its head you could tell it could not be a wasp.
Thanks for showing this incredible animal.
Pierre

Hi Rin,

The moth is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details of the Ash or Lilac Borer Moth.It is clear and sharp. The light of the flash is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Hi, Ron. This is a colorful macro shot of an insect which is probably best adapted to its surroundings. Colors, texture and the pose seemed to suggest an aggressive posture. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ron
Rare and interesting insect, similar to a wasp. Unknown to me.
Sharpness and depth of field are good, as well as the fine details and colors.

Thanks for sharing
Pedro
