Red-tailed Hawk in the field..
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|This is the same Red-tailed Hawk, as in my previous upload. It took time to reach close to this bird.. Hawks are usually very alert, and can notice you from far. But this bird was a bit of careless.. kind of, allowed me actually (to some extent).|
May be the bird was content with the food it just ate, or could be little distracted by the herd of deers in the adjacent jungle.
It took approx 30 minutes to reach this close. :)
It was a sunny day. Extremely cold.

Your patience paid off nicely with this wonderful image of your Red-tailed hawk. I really like the intense look it has on it's face as it gazes into the dry amber colored grass. Perhaps it had spotted movement and is just waiting for conformation that it's prey is still there.
Overall composition is wonderful, focus is sharp and colors are true and natural. Well done!!
Welcome back to the site. Simplistic yet spectacular photo with 2 layers, a bright and a dark in the background... and a hawk in a pose of a statue... I love the eye contact and the way how you composed "his majesty of the king" into the pic. Your patience paid off, as Ron said, and resulted a photo to be proud of. Yes, it's an exceptional one even the hawk could be a tad sharper on this reduced size image. Brava.
Best regards, László
A 100 points from me here ...please ... stunning capture Ruby ... well done !
