A frosty Saturday night... When I see the hoarfrost on dead leaves under my maple trees in the morning, it is a sure sign Winter is rapidly approaching...

I took six shots of the leaves this morning (Sunday) before we went to church for the early service. This one taken at a distance with fully extended 12X zoom captured very well what I was seeing in my inner eye... I am very pleased with the "mood" of this capture. It fits the following verse...

"Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved." - Matthew 24:12,13 NIV

Taken hand-held, auto everything, 12X zoom fully extended, early morning in the shade.

Perhaps you always had this talent.....but I watched it grow here on TN. And your words find the meanings behind the images....in a way that is unique and creative. Certainly a talent well appreciated by me!

Hello Larry,
A vivid reminder of what is lurking right around the corner. Shown with attractive detail, good exposure and natural coloration. Nicely composed with wonderful DOF.

Hi Larry. Excellent pattern with well defined details. Very well seen and framed in this almost monochromatic composition. Regards - Jusni

Fine artistic capture Larry. I love the simplicity in this frame. Bravo. The end of the circle is complete. Great natural colors and perfect composition indeed! We had a heated debate end of last week based on the question is TN a nature site, Photographic site or both in sentence. With this wonderful image you are just coming in my support! That's truly a Photographic masterpiece and your new "storefront" link ROCKS! Bravo!

Nice balance to this picture Larry. The frost makes a nice contrast for the eye to look at. I like how you framed it and the colour is nice all throughout. TFS Trevor

Hello Larry,
such a capture of these muted leaves. I like the textures produced by the line of veins and dried stalk.
well composed with good paird of artistic eyes.

Hy Lary
It seems that the season of frozen fallen leaves just started!!Simple and beautiful, as ussualy!!
My kind regards,

I love all of the pictures of the leaves but this is by far my favorite. You did a great job of capturing how frigid and vulnerable they are.

Sombre, yet excellent. You make a very melancholic setting almost poetic. I like the composition and DOF. Very sharp picture. I see you use a Panasonic Lumix FZ20. Nice camera. I recently suggested the ZS5 to a dear friend who wanted a great point and shoot. Seeing this pic come from a Lumix, I am very happy about Panasonic Lumix performance. Congrats on getting this shot, and TFS.
