Just after a recent snow, I saw this cardinal, with frosted beak, sitting on a branch in our backyard. For the longest time he did not move.

“In the bleak midwinter, frost wind made moan,
earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
in the bleak midwinter, long ago.”
- Christina G. Rossetti

Hello Larry,
What an unusual image of this Cardinal with a frosted bill. Looks like he tried his first snow cone and really liked it. This beautiful little bird is a wonderful reminder that even in the dead of winter nature still manages to supply a little color to the scene.

Hello Larry,

an nice witerpicture from this Red Cardinal in the snow.
Good pov, sharpness and managing the white balance.
Fine colors.

Hi Larry
very pleasant compo with such a nice color contrast

Well captured Larry. The little red cardinal stands out well from it's cold and bleak environment.

Hi Larry,

There aren't many things more beautiful to look at than a male Cardinal in a snowy setting. This picture is stunning with the red bird in a fine pose on the bare branches surrounded by the white snow. I love the snow on his beak!!! The Cardinal is razor sharp and the composition is outstanding.

I took one similar but on film in the early seventies. Lost many years ago. Your title is one of my favorite songs and your image is hating.

Bonjour Larry,
Intéressante publication par la bonne maitrise de la lumière permettant d'apprécier une originale opposition des couleurs.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
