Purple finches are numerous and conspicuous in my back yard.. They show a fondness for sunflower seeds and i have sunflowers growing in my gardens. They are ornamental conifers in gardens..

Hallo Jane
I am amazed about the bright and intense colour of this bird. You managed to capture it in a beautiful frontal view and pose with good clarity and details. A very impressive image of this vividly and strong coloured bird. Although called purple finch, the pinkish, red of the plumage is very intense and creates the feeling of joy and cheerfulness. Thanks for sharing this lovely bird.

Hi Jane,

Another one I have not seen! We have more House Finches than we need, and a few Cassin's Finches but never a Purple Finch. Except for the colors they look very much alike. Once again a lovely shot with wonderful pose, colors, details, background and composition.
