Taken in the back yard..He looks like he has a popcorn ball but tis suet..
Field Guide: The common nuthatch of the Eastern United States are generally sedentary, but sometimes in the fall if they turn up along the outer beaches it's an indication of migration taking place. Pairs seem to remain together year-round. In the dead of winter they often join other species such as chickadees, woodpeckers, kinglets, and often remain in their territories..
They are familiar visitors to bird feeders.. |
