[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This guy was astute and determined to catch that fish, (or mate) blue red eye and all! Wetlands was entertaining today, active..signs of spring all around.

When anhingas are in their breeding plumage they have a blue ring around their eyes. The female lays three to five light blue eggs. The nest is in a tree and it is made of sticks and lined with leaves. The chicks hatch in about a month.

Hello Brenda,
Great close-up shot showing the unique facial features and colors of this long necked bird. Kind of reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield for some reason:)
With the wetlands starting to come alive, I imagine you are having a ball on your outings. I'm sure you will have many interesting images for us in the near future.

Very nice close profile of this Anhinga in excellent sharpness and a fine composition. The colours on the bird are a bit over-exposed. Beautiful blurry background.
