Jevenile Snowy Egret
 |

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Again, had a ball Trekking through the wetlands of Florida yesterday. It was hot and humid but worth every sweat droplet!
Today I share Ms Snowy scratching that itch! The Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) is a small white heron. They have a slim black bill and long black legs with yellow feet. The area of the upper bill, in front of the eyes, is yellow but turns red during the breeding season, when the adults also gain recurved plumes on the back, making for a "shaggy" effect. The juvenile looks similar to the adult, but the base of the bill is paler, and a green or yellow line runs down the back of the legs.
It was an amazing day and of course a blog was birthed! Feel free to enjoy and leave a comment! |

Hello Brenda, Great capture!
What a cute youngster you have photographed. I really like it's inquisitive look and the way it has it's head cocked sideways.
I too have trouble getting the exposure perfect on all white subjects. I have photographed Great Egrets many times and seem to never ever get an image where the entire plumage is perfectly exposed.
Ron
Hello Brenda,
agree with Luciano about the exposure but it's not easy with all this white.
But the rest is nice, the pose are realy fine, and the eye and feathers are sharp.
And the bird stand out well agaisnt the blurry BG.
Well done.
Regards
Gert
