Love taking my morning Trek's in the dense everglades, every pool of water has activity. This day spied our Anhinga and she was quite the fisherwoman! You can tell the females by their blonde necks; males having a dense dark neck.

The action shot displayed here was a SUDDENLY, I heard a plop and my camera was ready. Her toss was amazing!
If you click my blog you can see the whole scenario of when she popped up, speared the fish and then tossed it up in the air to eat it! This is how they fish! ENJOY!!

Perfect Timing and amazing photo!

Hello Brenda,

Fantastic action capture of the minnow's last seconds of life & enroute to the Anhinga's gullet. Lovely reflection and circular wave with the deep watery blue as a backdrop. Congrats on this snappy, quick drawn composition.

Hello Brenda,
Congratulations on a fantastic action image. From the looks of it's large crop, I believe fishing was pretty good for the Anhinga on this particular day. Perfectly timed!!

Hello Brenda,
Outstanding photograph of Female Anhinga Fishing, excellent sharpness and details, good composition, good background and outstanding lighting.
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Brenda,

You're capturing well this decisive moment by a good composition, a good focus and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the moment in which this Anhinga is just catching a small fish openning its long beak. And, it's tasteful and effective for the ring of water around the bird and the reflection projected to the water.

Kind regards,
