Resting in a small fresh water pond. Ibis feed over a wide area but prefer moisture softened earth, or wading in shallow water. They get dirty feeding in the marsh and wash the mud off when they find clean water. Wading birds schedules are based on the tides in coastal areas, and you can predict behavior if you learn how the tide affects them. This is a high tide behavior. |
