[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was told this is a wasp but had never seen one before...

It is a cuckoo wasp and is usually found around old barns, not flowers. And actually that is where i found it, outside an old barn...It was on the move, stopping only this one time on a board a few feet away, so i didn't think i was able to capture this shot, when i looked again he was gone!!

Cuckoo Wasps get there name becuase, like cuckoo birds, they lay their eggs in the nest of bees and other wasps!

I love the colors on that wasp, Laurita.
Very sharp details that are well shown against the light and clean BG of the tree trunk.

Fine macro of this attractive cuckoo wasp. We have similar species in Europe.
