[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A delightful surprise on the Alum Cave Trail in the Smoky Mountians National Park: the trail runs through this little "cave". This is located next to a stream and there was some discussion that perhaps it was the stream that had cut this hole in the rock. I don't know. The stairway is rather steep and precipitous.

This is not the trail's namesake. That honor belongs to a series of impressive bluffs. Perhaps I will find a good shot of those to post.

Your photo reminds me of many of the same type of places that I've hiked into. Looks like a great place to explore!
