[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I posted a photo of a male Greater Scaup yesterday, so today I decided to show what the female looks like. I had the pleasure of viewing these diving ducks while at Radnor State Park near Nashville Tennessee.

The Greater Scaup and the Lesser Scaup are very hard to tell apart, but one difference is that the male Greater Scaup has a greenish tint to it's head while the Lesser Scaup has a purplish tint. At a distance both males appear to have a blackish head, but when the sun hits them at just the right angle their true colors are apparent.

Hi Ron,

It's nice to see the female after having seen the male. She isn't blessed with the green head and yellow eye but still is quite attractive. An excellent shot with wonderful details of her face and plumage. The water looks delicious - love the color, the circles and the reflection.

Hi Ron,

Nice POV, the details are simply so awesome. It's so awesome to see the water drops on her body. Fabulous focus it is. You got the framing very well too.

Thank you for sharing it,
Amal

Hi Ron,

Another really nice shot, I like this one better, you were closer, so better detail. A very handsome bird, not showy, but still an attractive species.

John

What would the male be without the female..and so it is written....ducks are quite monogamous you know...Very good, clear crisp shot Ron!
