[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Somehow i knew it was going to be my last day with Shelby Farms Park.. and i felt like i was going to lose something/ someone so precious - that even for lifetime! I tried to grab every moment of my stay over there.. on that day.. and get most out of it. In Tennessee, it was the beginning of Spring. After dull Winter, Shelby Farms Park was coming back to its best form. Once again, rich in birds and good amount of sunlight. But unfortunately, i was to leave my beloved Shelby Farms Park during its peak time only..! (sigh)

Massachusetts is absolutely different in landscape and weather. Beautiful & interesting. But seems, am still living in the memories of my days with beautiful Tennessee.

Here's a common but gorgeous bird i met on that day.. my last day.. in Shelby Farms Park. It was his lunch-time, i guess :)

I was roaming around the Mayor Lake and my eyes, scanning like a radar.. lol. Looking for birds, especially, a dream bird of mine: Carolina Wren. I saw them once or twice, during my previous few visits.. got some record shots too.. but couldn't manage one, where its beauty was properly justified. And since it was my last day, i badly wanted one :/

Then found this gorgeous. Inside the thickets, busy in having food. He was so close to me. I stood still.. like a statue.. and tried taking shots while making minimum possible movements. I didn't want to kill his natural rhythm.

Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) is a beautiful bird. And had been impressing me since the beginning of my days in this country. The male bird is more gorgeous than the female, but as i had said before, somehow, i liked the female birds of this species more.

Very nice photo of this Northern Cardinal in great sharpness, details and attractive eye contact. The contrasting colours against the environment are very beautiful.

Hello Ruby,
I know how you feel when you have to leave a place that you have fallen in love with and don't know if you will ever return. Rosie and I used to visit Nashville at least twice a year when our oldest daughter Traci lived there.
Traci is now doing missionary work in the country of Nicaragua, so we may never get to go back to the many special places in Tennessee where we once roamed. The flip side is ...Nicaragua....Here we come!!
The neat thing about nature is that it has no boundries, whever you find yourself there are always new and exciting things to see, smell and touch.
I have been to Massachusetts and can only say you are about to find a ton of new animals, insects, birds and plants that you would never see in Tennessee.
Now about this cute little Cardinal...I love how you captured this guy with his creast standing erect like a proud national flag waving in the wind. The last photo I took of a male cardinal his was as flat as a pancake, and didn't look nearly as impressive.
Love the good eye contact and those beautiful vivid red and black colors, especially this time of the year when everything looks so dull. Hope to see some new and interesting nature shots from you in the near future.

Absolutely amazing picture of the Northern Cardinal with your compact camera, Ruby. The picture is so perfect it puts DSLRs in shade. Very precise focus and wonderful colours on the subject.
