Eastern Bluebirds (Sialia sialis) are real beauty.. especially, the male birds. Gorgeous blue with tints of saffron in white base. Comparatively, female birds are dull. Male birds appear to be sharp and slender, but females, a bit of 'golu'.. cute :)

This was not my first sighting of an Eastern Bluebird. I had been seeing them since the beginning.. but never got to get this close!! Also, i didn't know the ID before.. i thought, it was some blue Warbler.. and, definitely wanted to photograph one someday. Blue in birds, was my all time favourite :)

This shot was taken on my last day at Shelby Farms Park. As i said before, the place was getting rich and coming back to its form! The day was successful.. i met many birds on that day. Am so thankful for that :)

Well, what i have noticed is that.. you easily get to see these birds mainly during the early morning.. and also before sunset. I remember my previous visits to Shelby Farms Park.. throughout the day i wouldn't see them, but while driving back, i would see them perching on wires or fences.. thus accelerating me towards a better next day :):)

My first shot of an Eastern Bluebird was taken in the month of December while heading towards the Chickasaw National Wildlife Refuge.
This shot was taken in Shelby Farms Park. I had been crawling then and waiting for a better POV for more than an hour :)
As you see, the bird was facing the Sun. So, i wanted to get an angle that could make the Sun behind of me.. from that close and in an open meadow, it was not so easy. The bird had been hopping from one tree to another, and i followed her obediently in hope.. :)

It was an experience! the bird seemed to be a bit of absent-minded. The cold, lovely wind and solitude made her dreamy i guess :) Every time, she looked at my side, i tried to remain as still as a statue. Don't know my presence was perceived or not.. but i couldn't take more risk and told myself to stay happy with this angle. For the time being, of course :)

Thanks for viewing. Happy to share :)

Hello Ruby,
I see you got a great shot of this pretty little lady. The way the sun is reflecting off of her brings out the soft colors she wears compared to her mate. She may not have the deep blue colors of the male, but she holds her own when it comes to good looks. Awesome image!!
I sometimes like to tease Rosie and tell her "isn't it funny how male birds are usually better looking then the females" and she is quick to reply..."your right, but isn't it even funnier it's not that way with people":)

Hello Ruby,
What a lovely picture! Colors are perhaps a little bit cold, but all that depends on you is very beautiful : harmony of colors, composition...
This species is really cute.
