[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a sunset from my home in Lufkin, Texas. East Texas is vastly different than West Texas where I currently reside. I miss the tall pine trees of home.

About Texas:

By residents, the state is generally divided into North Texas, East Texas, Central Texas, South Texas, and West Texas, but according to the Texas Almanac, Texas has four major physical regions: Gulf Coastal Plains, Interior Lowlands, Great Plains, and Basin and Range Province. This has been cited as the difference between human geography and physical geography, although the fact that Texas was granted (and retains to this day) the prerogative to divide into as many as five U.S. states may be a historical motive for Texans defining their state as containing exactly five regions.

Beautiful colors. It's so weird. I ran outside last night to take a photo almost just like this one. Last night's sunset was beautiful!
Central Texas with its hills and diversity is beautiful in its own right, isn't it?

The rich, warm colors of the sunset against the silhouette of the trees creates a great effect. Very nice!

Hi Billy,
I to am from Lufkin...Born but not raised there...Most my relatives are in Diboll...Nice capture of a sunset but in an East Texas Piney Woods sunset there should be pine trees...Anyway, the silhouette of the trees against the pastel colors of sunset make for a nice photo...Hope to see more photos of East Texas as the closest I've been in many years is Lake Livingston...TFS
